James Thornton is a Senior Partner and co-chair of the firm's global Corporate & M&A practice. With over 28 years at Lawrence Andersen, James has established himself as one of the most trusted advisors in large-cap M&A transactions, private equity, and public company governance matters.

James's practice spans all aspects of corporate transactions, with particular depth in contested M&A, leveraged buyouts, cross-border acquisitions, and complex joint ventures. He regularly advises boards of directors, special committees, and financial advisors on their most significant and sensitive matters.
